Dell also announced that its IT assistant management software will be integrated with Navisphere on EMC Corp. arrays, which will offer a "single pane of glass" to manage Dell and EMC systems, according to Praveen Asthana, director of Dell storage marketing. Dell will also be factory installing SAN components, such as host bus adapters and SAN management software, like PowerPath, into its hardware, Asthana said.

NEC to resell Riverbed WDS Riverbed Technology Inc. announced that NEC Corp. will license and resell its wide-area data services (WDS) solution, the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS). NEC will combine RiOS with its server product line and sell the offering under its new WanBooster product family name. WanBooster, based on RiOS, is a network appliance that accelerates applications, allowing users to optimize WAN bandwidth.
