Resorting to fraternity tactics in its bid to compete with EMC Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc. flew a plane over EMC's shareholder meeting in Southborough, Mass., today, flying a banner that read, "We Love Data: Watch out EMC." An EMC spokesman said, "The real kicker is there's nobody in the meeting under the age of 60!

QLogic, IBM package SAN starter kits
QLogic Corp. announced SAN packages consisting of IBM TotalStorage DS4100 or DS4300 arrays and the QLogic SAN Express Starter Kit 1000. The so-called small and midsized business (SMB) SAN kits can be installed by a technical generalist in minutes, the companies claim. These packages allow SMBs to consolidate and better manage their storage resources with SANs in the same manner as large enterprises, according to QLogic.
